Description

It’s not only that pink oyster mushrooms are stunningly lovely. They are also salty and succulent, making them ideal for sautéing or adding to pasta, pizza, and other dishes. They thrive in higher humidity because they are a tropical oyster mushroom strain, and if they receive enough indirect sunshine, their colour will deepen. Pink oysters are an excellent meat alternative because of their firmer texture. You may discover recipes that incorporate them in everything from burritos to barbeque sandwiches if you’re feeling daring. They even produce delicious vegan bacon!

You can produce your own pink oyster mushrooms at home with the Pink Oyster “Spray & Grow” Mushroom Growing Kit. A bag of sterilised sawdust substrate that has been inoculated with pink oyster mushroom spores is included in the kit. Simply keep the kit in a warm, humid environment and mist it with water a few times per day to keep the moisture levels stable.

On the surface of the sawdust substrate, mushrooms will begin to form as they enlarge. The mushrooms can be harvested after a few weeks and eaten raw or cooked in recipes.

A tropical mushroom species notable for its vivid pink colour and delicate flavour is the Pink Oyster (Pleurotus djamor). It is a quickly expanding mushroom that does well in warm, humid environments, which makes it perfect for cultivation indoors.

The “Spray & Grow” kit is made to be simple to use and doesn’t need any specialised tools or knowledge. Both children and adults will find it to be a fun and informative endeavour, and it offers a year-round sustainable source of fresh, organic mushrooms.

Directions

1) This box contains a block of modified sawdust that has been totally colonised by mycelium from mushrooms. Remove the cardboard that is still inside the front of your package by opening it along the perforated line.

2) Using a knife or pair of scissors that are sharp, cut a “X” into the plastic underneath.

3) Open up the top of the box to reveal the sprayer and manual. Spray the plastic where you cut your “X” with a liberal amount of water from the sprayer after filling it with tap water. Spray your gear at least twice each day; more frequently if you’re in an especially dry environment. Make a humidity tent if your growing circumstances are too dry if your mushrooms start to grow but then dry up and perish.

4) Keep your kit away from direct sunlight and in the moistest area of your house. We advise positioning it near a sink on a kitchen counter. Mushroom “pins,” sometimes known as “baby mushrooms,” are created when the mushroom mycelium detects the presence of oxygen in the air.

5) Pins often form in 5 to 14 days. Mushrooms grow rapidly after pins start to form. Keep an eye on your first pins when you find them. They will grow more quickly in a warmer atmosphere. After pin creation, the mushrooms should be ready for harvesting in 2 to 5 days.
