Description

Mycologists created our top-selling organic sterilised grain spawn bag to maximise the rate and size of your mushroom growth. Each spawn bag is filled with our special blend of organic, nutrient-rich, hydrated millet and wheat berries. Moreover, the bags have a self-healing injection port for use with spore or culture syringes and a patch filtering out particles smaller than 0.2 microns to prevent airborne pollutants while maintaining even gas exchange. The injection port’s colour may differ.

For cultivating mushrooms or other fungi, use a bag made of organic sterilised grain with an injection site. To get rid of any bacteria or other impurities that can hinder the growth of the fungi, the bag, which is made of organic materials like grain or sawdust, has been sterilised.

The injection port is a tiny opening in the bag where spores or other inoculation materials can be added. To stop contamination while still enabling air exchange, this port can be sealed with a filter patch or a self-healing injection port.

The bag is placed in a warm, humid location after being injected to promote the growth of the fungi. The mushrooms or other fruiting bodies that can be collected for food or other uses will grow as the fungus proliferate throughout the bag over time.

Because they are comparatively simple to use and need little equipment, organic sterilised grain bags with injection ports are a popular option for home growers and small-scale commercial mushroom farmers. They are also a more environmentally friendly alternative to conventional plastic bags, which can take hundreds of years to break down and pollute the environment.

Colonization

Place your bag where it will have a cool, shaded environment to colonise. Incubation temperatures shouldn’t rise over 75 degrees Fahrenheit or fall below 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Mycelium should begin to sprout on the grain after a few weeks.

The whitish mycelium will be seen spreading from the injection site. Without opening the bag, carefully break up the colonised grain and combine it with the uncolonized grain once it has expanded to a height of three to four inches. This will hasten the colonisation process considerably.

Your spawn is ready for use when the bag is entirely white with mycelium. Depending on the species and strength of your culture, this could take a few weeks to a month or longer.

Storing

Store grain bags away from direct sunlight at room temperature. Refrigeration is not required. They can also be kept in storage for a while before being used.
