Species we sell
GroSpore produces and sells cultures, colonised substrate, and grow kits for gourmet and functional mushroom species only — oyster varieties, shiitake, chestnut, beech, king oyster, lion's mane, reishi, and similar edible and non-psychoactive fungi. Every culture is of the species named on its product page.
We do not sell psilocybin species
We do not produce, stock, sell, or ship psilocybin-containing spores, cultures, or substrate, and we do not provide guidance on cultivating them. We do not make exceptions, and we do not answer questions on the subject. Orders or messages seeking them will be cancelled and refunded without further correspondence.
Your local law
Cultivation and possession of live fungal cultures is legal across the United States for the species we sell, but individual states, counties, and municipalities can impose their own rules on live biological material, agricultural imports, and home cultivation. You are responsible for knowing and following the law where you live. If a product cannot lawfully be shipped to your address, we will cancel that item and refund it.
Health and dietary supplement statement
These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Our products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
We sell lion's mane and reishi as cultivation products — organisms you grow — not as dietary supplements, medicines, or treatments. Nothing on this store is medical advice, and no employee of GroSpore is qualified to give any. Research into functional mushrooms is ongoing and largely preliminary; claims you encounter elsewhere often outrun the evidence.
Talk to a qualified healthcare provider before adding any mushroom to your routine for a health purpose — particularly if you are pregnant or nursing, immunocompromised, awaiting surgery, or taking anticoagulants, immunosuppressants, or blood glucose medication, all of which have documented or plausible interactions with medicinal mushroom preparations.
Food safety
- Cook everything. No cultivated gourmet mushroom in our catalogue should be eaten raw. Several, including chestnut and some oyster strains, cause gastric upset until cooked through.
- Do not eat contaminated fruit. If a block shows green, black, or pink mould, smells sour, or weeps cloudy liquid, discard the whole thing — do not harvest around the affected area.
- Allergies are real. Some people react to edible mushroom species, and oyster spores in particular can irritate the airways in a poorly ventilated room. Harvest before the caps flatten and release spores, ventilate the space, and try a small cooked portion of any species new to you.
- Identify with certainty. Eat only what you grew from a labelled GroSpore product. Never eat a wild mushroom on the strength of a resemblance to something you have cultivated.
Growing results
Mushrooms are living organisms and yields vary with temperature, humidity, fresh air exchange, light, and handling. Photographs on our product pages show representative results under good conditions, not a guarantee. Our commitment covers the condition of the product when it reaches you — see the Refund Policy.
Age
Our products are sold to adults aged 18 and over.
